Dr. Hannah Bolland

Solving medicine's greatest

challenges

Hannah is a cancer research scientist at the University of Oxford investing areas of low oxygen inside tumours, why this makes them more resistant to treatment and how we can image them better. She spends her days doing super cool experiments with cancer cells.

Hannah is a strong believer in making science accessible to all, making sure everyone has a chance to learn about the incredible research happening all around the world. She is passionate about breaking down barriers for young people to access higher education, encouraging them to take up a career in STEM and the impact having a positive and inspiring role model can have on this.

Knowledge and Experience

Hannah holds a PhD in Oncology from the University of Nottingham, a Masters in Medical Science in Assisted Reproductive Technology also from the University of Nottingham and a BSc (Hons) Human Biology from Loughborough University.

Outside of the lab…

When not in a lab coat, Hannah enjoys running, swimming, and not sitting still. Her favourite place is Italy (pasta, ice cream and sunshine) and loves all small fluffy creatures.
